Things are super fantastically awesome!

I love my life! I love my kids and my hubs. Just celebrated 11 years married a couple of weeks ago...

I'm excited to be going home to see some of my extended family in a couple of days for my little brother's wedding. He's marrying a great gal that I will be proud to call sister. The weather is warming up, my Pampered Chef collection continues to grow and be useful, I find very little to complain about most days... and I am beyond grateful! I want to share my sunshine with you...

Progress Report!

Thumbs up for sunshine!!! (Oh, how we miss you...)

We were very lucky to be able to visit Kurt for a month this summer in Turkey... and we were able to take a day trip over to Greece. It's beautiful there and the food is awesome!

We had a SEVERIOUSLY good time!

Except for the ferry ride over... I get very ferry boat sick...

Jax & Kurt were obviously fine... Meh.

When we got home-
Jax started his 1st Grade year at DODDS School on base!

He's already brought home TWO Golden Rockies... for jobs well done!

We're SO proud of the progress he's made! He's become a little man and is becoming so independent. He has been an absolute treasure.

And he lost another tooth!

Oh! And this summer we got to visit The States too!

Specifically VA & PA...

Pops took him on his first fishing trip and he caught THREE fish!!

Our travels were exhausting... but worth it!!

Kurt was home for a quick visit in October and he'll be back for a week in early November.

Everybody just keep their fingers crossed that he gets an early return date soon! (By Christmas if we get a miracle or two!) I know that we're really, really lucky to have these opportunities to visit and we're luckier than most but I just can't help wanting him home for good.

We're doing okay. Okay, Jax is doing great and I'm doing okay...

I really miss my husband! And not just for his dish washing ability.

For his ability to be a partner to me in all things.

He's my best friend and I'd really love to have him home!

I mean, look at this guy! Who wouldn't miss this face?!

Kurt has gone...


So I've been busy...


The transition seems to have gone pretty smoothly except for the fact that when Kurt plugged in his laptop at his new house the adapter blew so we can't video conference anymore. Skype has been a Godsend.

Hopefully he gets the replacement one soon cause we miss seeing his handsome face. It made it feel a little more like he was in the next room instead of miles away... we miss the heck out of him! I've lost my partner in crime...


Jax's last day of school is Friday. We're pulling him out early to jetset around the world.

Hitting PA first, onto VA and then Turkey!

When we get back Jax is starting American school. We're sad to leave St. Mary's. As I've said we love it there but the boy needs to a bit more in the way of academic stimulation recently, amongst other things like regimented discipline ;), and DODS (Department of Defence Schools) have a great gifted program.


So, in summary: This year apart thing stinks, we look forward to seeing our families soon, we can't wait to reunite with Kurt in Turkey and enjoy this sun he talks about together, and if you want to send Kurt a care package get at me and I'll message you his address. I just sent him Snickerdoodles which went over well!

And so today my boredom brought me to try a wedding cake recipe. Almond Butter Wedding Cake with Apricot Filling... and I decided to make my first attempt at decorating... not half bad!!
